Poverty is a heartbreaking reality for many in Tanzania. It is not a given that children are able to attend primary school, much less secondary school.
In the year 2011, Grassroots opened Angel Secondary School to meet the needs of both the orphans growing up at Angel House as well as other students in the Tarime community. The student body is a mixture of orphans, scholarship students, and students who are able to afford to pay school fees to cover the scholarships. Angel Secondary is just about to conclude it’s 6th year in December, and with a student population of approximately 350 students, it is making a huge impact in the community of Tarime, Tanzania.
